To carry it out, it was necessary to apply class balancing techniques, since the dataset presented a smaller number of customers in abandonment, in contrast to those who remain in active service. In addition, customer segmentation was carried out using K-Means. In terms of churn prediction, several classification models were evaluated and the one with the best performance was selected. Based on their predictions, geospatial analysis was applied to examine the territorial distribution of customers, identify patterns and enable the development of more effective retention strategies. To evaluate each model, ROC-AUC and recall metrics were applied, where Random Forest in combination with Random Downsampling presented the best performance. While, through segmentation, four groups of customers with similar characteristics were identified. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that integrating machine learning and geospatial analysis is an effective combination for predicting customer churn in the telecommunications sector. The combination of Random Forest with data balancing techniques, together with customer segmentation using K-Means, resulted in a robust and accurate model.
2025-06-15T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/148Data mining applied to student segmentation and attraction of new profiles through clustering techniques2025-05-08T03:59:51-04:00Carlos Rafael Guffantte Salazarrafael.guffantte@espoch.edu.ecSantiago Israel Logroño Naranjo israel.logronio@espoch.edu.ec
This project proposes the application of data mining tools, in particular clustering techniques, to identify the most representative profiles that have passed through the CONDUESPOCH driving school located in the city of Riobamba.

The research is justified by the need to improve the recruitment of students before each new academic period, and through the processing of historical information available to the institution it is possible to segment these individuals into different groups. The development is based on the application of K-Means and DBSCAN models, each with its strengths and weaknesses depending on the nature and distribution of the data available; the DBSCAN model is the most appropriate for the case study, reaching validation metrics of 0.78 for the silhouette coefficient and 0.27 for the Davies-Bouldin index.

The study adopts a quantitative and exploratory approach, with an applied methodology. The main characteristics of the most significant groups will be analyzed in order to propose recruitment strategies that can be effective for the institution.

The program seeks to improve the integration of data mining in institutional management, simplifying student recruitment processes so that the school maintains a high profile in the region with its peers; in addition to ensuring efficient and informed decision making based on the knowledge acquired.
2025-06-15T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/149Impact Of Qualified Work Accidents In Ecuador During The Period 2014 - 20232025-05-08T04:08:50-04:00José Alberto Bran Cevallosalberto.branc@ug.edu.ecLeonardo Álvaro Banguera Arroyoleonardo.bangueraa@ug.edu.ecOtto Benjamin Santos Vasquezotto.santosv@ug.edu.ecGerardo David Llamuca Baquegerardo.llamucab@ug.edu.ec
This work analyzes the impact of qualified work accidents in Ecuador during the period 2014–2023, given the high rate of work accidents reported and classified by the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), but the most worrying thing is that there is still a high rate of under-reporting of accidents according to the International Labor Organization (ILO), which puts all those involved on alert. The purpose of this investigation is to compile all the existing statistical information published on the website by the control entity, analyze it and determine the impact that work accidents have in the country, all of this, based on a review of statistical data. official and recent literature, it is necessary to apply the descriptive-quantitative method, to analyze the behavior of the variables, the statistics of occupational accidents published by the annual bulletins of the General Occupational Risk Insurance (SGRT) were also reviewed, the incidence was evaluated. of these accidents in the economy, occupational health and public policies. Likewise, trends in the frequency and severity of accidents are highlighted, as well as the strategies implemented for their prevention and mitigation. In conclusion, workplace accidents in the country continue to be a worrying issue. We must wait in the short or medium term for the changes that the new Executive Decree No. 255 (Safety and Health at Work Regulations) may bring, which, added to other regulations that are being analyzed in the technical tables in charge of the governing bodies such as the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Public Health, which is expected to reduce the impact of workplace accidents in the country. To explore the topic ontoepistemically, a methodological strategy is constructed that pursues the definition and conceptualization of AI, the analysis of its influence on physical-sports practice, the description of its applications and the characterization of emerging technologies in this line; for this purpose, AI models applied to the following sports are reviewed in different websites: athletics, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, soccer, fitness, swimming and field tennis. The applications consulted show AI-based platforms that enable the creation of personalized training routines, adapted to the needs and personal training objectives of athletes, support for referee decisions and injury prevention, projecting a holistic and rigorous margin of a field in continuous development that warns of a serious risk between sports organizations with an abundance of resources and sports organizations with limited resources that do not have the means to acquire the latest technology.
2025-05-10T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/152Multilateral Political Governance: A Programatic Profile2025-05-20T14:49:19-04:00Pío García pio.garcia@uexternado.edu.co
The objective of this article is to apply a triadic analytical scheme to the study of the international system as an alternative to unidimensional and dichotomous approaches. The latter gives rise to reductionist assessments, insofar as they do not reveal the dynamism and complexity of global social reality. The Analysis is qualitative in nature and is used to analyze the international system and establish an assessment of the interplay of forces to which it owes its impulse. This assessment exists as a tool to validate the hypothesis of the potential for change in global economic governance. Based on international system’s diagnosis, heuristic approaches look for alternatives to current governance. The main findings are: i) predominance of economic and financial power over political and cultural power in contemporary globalization, which give governance an entropic character; ii) possibility of establishing corrections through the empowerment of multilateral political governance; iii) the need to reform and strengthen the United Nations, as the governing body of multilateral political governance.
2025-06-15T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/157Design And Simulation Of A UV-C Ultraviolet Light Lamp For Water Disinfection 2025-06-11T10:43:47-04:00Ember Geovanny Zumba Novayezumba@espoch.edu.ecDaniela Estefanía Cuenca Pérezaleinad_cuenca@hotmail.comCarla Marisol Espinosa Jiménezcarla.ms.1625@gmail.comCarmen Jhuliana Peña Roblescarmen.penar@educacion.gob.ec
This research aims to design and simulate a water disinfection system based on ultraviolet type C (UV-C) light, focused on improving access to safe water in rural communities with limited infrastructure, such as “El Desierto” in Palmira parish, Guamote canton. The study is applied in nature, with a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design comparing before and after scenarios without direct intervention. A theoretical sample of 30 households using untreated water sources was intentionally selected. The analysis was based on scientific literature and case studies in similar contexts. The simulation, conducted using MATLAB, incorporated parameters such as flow rate, turbidity, exposure time, and germicidal dose. A UV-C lamp system with three 40W tubes was simulated, achieving a dose >40 mJ/cm², with an estimated 99.99% reduction of E. coli and 99% of enteric viruses. The system showed low energy consumption (0.72 kWh/day) and a treated flow rate of 1 L/s. Although not implemented in the field, simulated ethical and educational strategies were included. The results suggest that the system is feasible, replicable, and has strong potential for improving rural public health.
2025-06-15T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/159Violation of consumer rights in the public electricity service in Guayaquil, 20222025-06-13T13:29:05-04:00Maria Isabel Vieyra Villalamaria.vieyrav@ug.edu.ecMariela Alava Maciasmariela.alavam@ug.edu.ecMichael Jose Ortega Tambacomichael.ortegat@ug.edu.ec
The present study has as a general objective to elaborate a legal analysis on the rights of the consumers of the public electricity service from the Constitutional and Legal context that allows to demonstrate if there is or is not a violation of rights before the provision of this service. For this purpose, an exhaustive search has been carried out on the figures, conceptions and theoretical constructions on the right to the consumer and the quality that they must generate in the provision of this service. Frequency, measured in hertz (Hz), constitutes a fundamental parameter in understanding wave, vibrational, and energetic phenomena. This basic, qualitative, and experimental study was conducted using a descriptive-explanatory design, supported by a systematic review academic sources, from which highly relevant articles were selected for theoretical and practical analysis. Principles of resonance and their interaction with material structures were explored through a simple experiment involving a speaker, a membrane made from a balloon fragment, baking soda, and a cardboard tube (60 cm x 8 cm). This setup enabled the visualization of resonance patterns (similar to Chladni figures) within the 100 Hz to 936 Hz range. The results confirm classical theories in acoustics and demonstrate how specific frequencies can induce the spontaneous organization of particles, generating structured patterns. MATLAB will be used to perform graphical and spectral analysis of the observed waveforms, enhancing the scientific visualization of the data. In addition to its pedagogical and technological value, the findings support the growing interest in the therapeutic properties of sound. Various studies indicate that specific frequencies may stimulate cellular repair processes and emotional balance. As a future research direction, it is proposed to evaluate how different geometries and materials influence the formation of complex resonant patterns and their potential bioenergetic properties.
2025-06-15T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deminghttps://revista-edwardsdeming.com/index.php/es/article/view/154Application of Physical Principles in Vehicle Stresses and Deformations to Optimize Automotive Safety and Performance2025-05-29T14:54:00-04:00Juan Manuel Martínez Nogales jumartinez@espoch.edu.ecJavier Edmundo Albuja Jácome javier.albuja@espoch.edu.ecJorge Milton Lara Sinaluisa javier.albuja@espoch.edu.ecSantiago Manuel Torres Barahona santiago.torres@espoch.edu.ec
This work highlights the relevance of physics in automotive engineering, particularly in the analysis of stresses and strains during vehicle design. Its application is essential for improving the safety, efficiency, and durability of automobiles, as it enables a better understanding of how internal and external forces affect vehicle components. The study emphasizes the need to analyze the stresses and deformations caused by these forces, which is fundamental for properly selecting materials and structuring more resistant designs. Additionally, finite element analysis is mentioned as a key tool that facilitates the simulation of material behavior under various loading conditions. This technique allows engineers to predict the point of maximum deformation, yield strength, and breaking point of the materials used, thus optimizing the vehicle's safety systems. Finally, the importance of implementing controlled deformation zones is stressed—these areas are specifically designed to absorb impact energy in the event of collisions. By deforming in a predictable manner, they protect occupants and significantly enhance performance in terms of passive safety. Overall, the study demonstrates how applied physical knowledge contributes to the advancement of automotive technology.
2025-06-05T00:00:00-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Tecnológica Ciencia y Educación Edwards Deming
